University of La Verne MLK Day of Service
The University of La Verne will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the 13th Annual MLK Day of Service. Students, faculty, staff, and community members that register for the event are invited to participate. Volunteers will learn about local sustainability practices and gardening techniques led by master gardeners alumna Kristina Flores ’20 and Marvhic Guinto. Participants will also get to taste some of the local vegetables during the event.
Where: Meet at Sara and Michael Abraham Campus Center at 9:30 a.m. 2000 2nd St. La Verne, Calif. 91750. The group will walk one (1) block over to Peace and Carrots Community Garden (at the Church of the Brethren) at 2425 E St. La Verne, Calif. 91750
Know Before You Go:
- Register for the Event: RSVP by Friday, January 12 at 5 p.m. Space is limited. Participants must sign up and register with the GivePulse Volunteer Website.
- Prepare: Wear comfortable gardening clothes that can get dirty and closed toe shoes. Bring sunscreen and a hat for sun protection. Bring a refillable water bottle.
