Marlene Carney of Marlene Carney Consulting Services is semi-retired today having recently retired from a 35 year chamber of commerce career. She managed the Turlock Chamber of Commerce (1984-1992), worked as Director of Local Chamber Services for the California Chamber of Commerce (1992-2013) and managed the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce (2014-2019).
Marlene currently volunteers with Shepherd's Pantry (current board chair), the Huntington Library, Art Museum & Botanical Gardens, the La Verne/San Dimas Women's Club (current board chair) and the La Verne Chamber. She does some freelance consulting with chambers of commerce and nonprofits in the area of community engagement, writing and meeting facilitation. She and her husband Bill and their doggie Miles have lived in La Verne since 2003. Hobbies includes bowling, walking, reading, movies and meeting up with friends. She has one daughter, 7 grandkids and 3 great grandkids.
