Chamber to Host 'A Taste of La Verne Restaurant Week'
The La Verne Chamber of Commerce will host “A Taste of La Verne Restaurant Week” to showcase La Verne as a premier dining destination offering diners a wide variety of culinary experiences Wednesday, Oct. 21 through Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020. The Corner Butcher Shop is the event’s title sponsor.
The goal of Taste of La Verne Restaurant Week is to help local restaurants gain exposure through extensive media promotion and to attract new patrons by experiencing their food. This event is open to all restaurants, from fast-casual spots to five-star dining establishments. Restaurants can pick a price point that fits their style and market their Restaurant Week specials on the Chamber's website.
Restaurant Week was created in New York City in 1992 by Tim Zagat, the creator of the Zagat Survey, and Joe Baum, a famous New York restaurateur. The promotional event was originally lunch-only and was set to coincide with the Democratic National Convention to draw visitors, reporters, and politicians attending the event to local restaurants. The first restaurant week saw huge success, and it has since spread to cities large and small all over the country.
Restaurant Week is a great way for businesses to draw in new customers, while keeping existing customers satisfied and interested. Although the featured meal(s) are offered at a reduced price, Restaurant Week brings in more traffic than usual, which makes up for the lower dollar amount. It also gives restaurateurs a chance to impress customers with their food and service, and the experience may persuade some guests to come back and become repeat customers.
